We rehearse every other week, except on major holidays and during the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Convention in the first week of July.

A citywide 24-hour giving blitz on September 10, 2026  – ALL ONLINE

Give for Good Louisville is a community-wide day of giving that supports more than 600 local nonprofits across the region.

It’s an opportunity for donors to support causes they care about while helping organizations compete for bonus prizes, matching funds, and other incentives throughout the day.

Depending on when donations are made and how much support we receive throughout the day, we may qualify for bonus funding that goes beyond the individual gifts themselves.

Last year, funds raised through Give for Good helped us purchase additional risers that have become a valuable resource for the chorus, for performances, and rehearsals as we expand as a chapter.

This year, funds raised will help support our ongoing programming and chapter operations, especially our Fall Show on December 12th.

Whether that’s venue expenses, show production costs, guest quartet appearances, afterglow expenses, music-related needs, or future chapter initiatives, every part of your gift helps us continue creating great musical experiences for our members and audiences.

Start as a Guest, Grow as a Member…

We welcome guests to attend rehearsals, meet our singers, and experience Great River Voices firsthand. Attending a rehearsal does not automatically grant chorus membership. Singers who wish to perform and participate as members complete a vocal audition and onboarding process to ensure they are prepared for the musical and performance expectations of the chorus.
Once accepted as a member, you’ll have access to performances, competitions, educational opportunities, chapter activities, and the full Great River Voices experience.

Let’s set up an audition!

Before you do…

We suggest that prospective members that are interested in auditioning to attend at least two rehearsals before requesting an audition. These rehearsals will help you get acquainted with the repertoire and the chorus’s singing style.

There are 4 options for how to complete the vocal audition:

1. Sing along with the recording (Voice part omitted)
2. Sing along with the recording (Voice part quiet)
3. Sing IN a quartet (alone on their part)
4. Sing WITH a quartet (2 on their part)

**Candidates should come prepared with the audition song fully memorized.**

Auditions will take place at the end of a rehearsal on the scheduled date.
All our songs are memorized for performances, and the same expectation applies to auditions.
The candidate will be contacted with results after the musical leadership has discussed (this discussion and feedback may occur in the same night immediately following the audition).

I – Guest Attendance Audition Path:

Visit several rehearsals as a guest:

Meet with the designated music team member (usually the director) for voice part designation

Work with the assigned section leader on audition materials, if needed.

Schedule an audition:

When ready, schedule an audition, making sure to decide which vocal audition option you wish to use.

II – Open Audition Path:

Download and work with audition materials until ready to audition.
